AP TDP leaders Impeded for Telangana power units in Srisailam – Teenmaar News
It all began with a reported request by AP to Telangana to stop the generation at Srisailam left bank power station, in view of the future requirements of AP. Earlier in the day, AP Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu reportedly directed the authorities to stop generation at the Right Bank power station, in view of the drinking water requirements of Rayalaseema region. This order came after an MP from Rayalaseema had registered his protest over the unrestrained power generation on both sides.
Mr. Harish Rao alleged that it is because of AP’s refusal to give Telangana its due share of power generated in Lower Sileru hydro-electric station and Krishnapatnam thermal project that the farming and industrial sectors were facing acute shortage of power. The neighbouring State was also violating Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, by not sharing power generated in its territory in ratio specified by the Act – 53 (Telangana):47 (AP), he said.
