The South Central Railway is one of the 17 railway zones in India. South Central Railway was formed on 2 October 1966 when Hubli and Vijayawada Divisions of Southern Railway and Sholapur and Secunderabad Divisions of Central Railway were carved out and merged into a new Zone. South Central Railway Zone is the 2nd highest revenue earning zone in Indian Railways after Northern Railway Zone. The revenue of South Central Railway Zone is nearly 16,000 crore.
